Character of FRP pipe

1.Good anti-corrosion performance, long service life.

2. Excellent hydraulics property

Smooth surface of inner glass reinforced plastic pipe. Absolute roughness of inner wall is 0.01mm, far smaller than that of steel pipe or cast iron pipe.

3. Light, convenient installation and transportation

Specific gravity of glass reinforced plastic pipe is 1.6, only 1/4-1/5 of steel pipe or cast iron pipe. Application shows that under the same inner pressure, weight of glass reinforced plastic pipe of the same diameter and length is 30% that of steel pipe. Therefore, glass reinforced plastic pipe can be transported in suit to save oil and other expenses. While installation, for glass reinforced plastic pipe of middle and small diameter, there is no need to employ heavy machine; some pipes can be delivered manually to improve installation speed.

4. High specific strength, reasonable mechanical property

Axial tension strength of wound glass reinforced plastic pipe is 160-320MPa, close to steel pipe but with higher specific strength. During structure design, deadweight of pipes can be greatly reduced, the installation is very easy.

5. Low thermal conductivity, small thermal stress

During actual application, the steel pipe needs to increase expansion pipe to remove thermal stress concentration on the pipe; however, glass reinforced plastic pipe is an exception. Thermal coefficient of linear extensibility of glass reinforced plastic pipe makes it have good heat and cold resistance. It can be used in all kinds of adverse environment, such as ground, underground, overhead, under the sea, desert, frozen, and dampness.

6. Less joint, various and flexible connection ways

Length of single pipe of glass reinforced plastic tube is 12m. While installing long distance pipe, less joints reduce not only hydraulic resistance, but also construction cost. Meanwhile, leakage feasibility caused by more joints will be greatly reduced compared with other pipes.

7. Good electrical insulating property

Steel pipe and cast iron pipe are good conductors of electricity. However,  glass reinforced plastic pipe is insulator, with breakdown voltage 12∼16kV/mm, volume resistivity ∼1014Ω.Cm and surface resistance ∼1011Ω. It can be safely applied in transmit electricity, telecommunication line compact area and mine field.

8. Stainless, good concealment performance, without secondary pollution

Steel pipe and cast iron pipe can generate local battery reaction during storage and application because of chemical and electrochemical action. The surface can easily rust and pollute the delivery media. Fiber winding glass reinforced plastic pipe will not generate oxidation corrosion on the surface since it is made of non-mental material with high electrode potential. There is no need to treat; no water pollution.

9. Antifouling and worm resistance

Inner wall of glass reinforced plastic pipe is clean and smooth, difficult for shell, fungus and microbe to attach. However, inner surface of steel pipe, cast iron pipe or concrete reinforced pipe can easily be polluted by shell or oyster, and can not be removed easily; consequently, roughness rate is increased, effective pipe diameter is reduced, and fluid resistance is increased, flow cross section is reduced.

10. Feasible design property

According to specific application condition, function and design of pipes can be designed:  Design winding angle to make pipe have different vertical/round direction strength distribution; Design wall thickness of pipe to make the pipe bear different inner and outer pressure; Design the material to make it achieve different standard, such as anti-corrosion, anti-flaming and dielectric; Design connection way to suit different installation condition to improve installation speed of projectsDesign product shape to meet specific form demand.
